Laying on of Hands

LAYING ON OF HANDS                                                                   edited post/: original  on
which of course naturally occurs in the firetunnel experience..
lets root this back to the word.. of course, this has to be our starting & finishing place in making any & all decisions in & around our lives including that of being church ( obviously!)..

1 Tim 4 v 12 -14

devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

& 1 Tim 5 v 22
Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

both these verses point to the conduct of people giving prophetic utterances over peoples lives have a high level of responsibility & recognised Godly authority.
similarly it could be a wise interpretation for the believer to consider “dont be quick in having hands laid on you”

to my mind the God we serve is very full, Jesus said he came to give us life in abundance this means if anyone endorses a persons’ spiritual calling or gifting (in the sense thats its already recognisable in the person) & hands are laid on as a permission giving/releasing/ blessing… the persons praying should demonstate at the least, responsibility & authority for the calling/gifting being endorsed..

if not, doubt, confusion can abound when the “thing” being prayed about doesnt seem to fit…. this results in an unGodly outworking…. as the person doesnt know what to do with it & it becomes & “issue” in their lives ( oftentimes they are also blamed for this personally too) in other words, it becomes a stumbling block.

Leaders have the responsibility to ensure that if they are endorsing someone for ministry, that that persons lifestyle matches up… if that person is in sin when it is exposed, it takes the credibilty of the person praying down with it too… ( thinks of Bentley’s Commissioning for example)

Leaders also further have the ongoing responsibility to provide opportunity & environments for that “thing” minstry/gifting/calling to flourish in a person – anything less makes the leader a “man of hot air words” If any anointing is transfered it is from Christ himself & is recognisable & evidential & fit for purposes that connect with the word of God… why should it be that anyone in the precious body of Christ receive anything less.

furthermore- the early church were taught that it was indeed possible for a spirit to be ” transferred” but they were instructed to keep themselves pure by not being too quick in laying praying hands on people… scripture admits therefore that something unGodly exists here & warns explicitly against it….

currently, sadly it seems the church at large is doing its level best to do the exact opposite
